Referee Bruno David Rossetti dies in Criciúma car accident
Football referee Bruno David Rossetti, 32, died following a car accident in Criciúma, Santa Catarina, on Sunday morning. Around 5:00 a.m., Rossetti lost control of his Ford Fiesta, which collided with a wall at the Próspera neighborhood's Urban Terminal and caught fire.
Emergency responders found Rossetti trapped in the wreckage. Authorities, including the Fire Department, Military Police, and Scientific Police, investigated the scene. The cause of the loss of control remains under investigation.
Rossetti was a member of the refereeing boards for both the Santa Catarina Football Federation (FCF) and the Liga Atlética da Região Mineira (Larm). The FCF issued an official statement expressing deep regret over his premature death and offering solidarity to his family and friends. Tributes were held during Brazilian league matches, including a minute of silence before games involving Chapecoense, São Paulo, Criciúma, and Fortaleza.
