Refined Energy exits Dufferin uranium project to focus on gold and antimony
Refined Energy has officially terminated its option to acquire an interest in the Dufferin uranium project in Saskatchewan, Canada. The decision follows a technical review of a winter drilling program in the Athabasca Basin, which involved three boreholes totaling 975 meters at a cost of approximately $1.7 million.
While two of the drill holes reached the Athabasca unconformity, geochemical results released in early July provided an inconsistent picture. Although ten anomalous intervals were identified with uranium enrichment reaching up to seven times background levels (peaking at 5 ppm), the company determined the results did not justify further investment.
As part of a strategic shift, Refined Energy is redirecting its resources toward the Golden Goose project in Newfoundland. This project focuses on gold and antimony deposits, which the company aims to prioritize to optimize its mineral exploration efforts.
