Reform partnership projects presented in Austrian Parliament
Austrian government officials presented 13 projects under the ‘Reform partnership’ initiative during an information session at the Parliament. The partnership, established in 2025 between the federal government, states, and municipalities, aims to streamline the state and increase efficiency through the reorganization of responsibilities.
Key sectors involved in the current phase of reforms include education, energy, health, and constitution and administration. Ministers and state secretaries, including Christoph Wiederkehr, Korinna Schumann, Alexander Pröll, and Elisabeth Zehetner, addressed questions from members of the Federal Council, National Council, state parliaments, and mayors.
Federal Council President Christine Schwarz-Fuchs emphasized that the initiative requires cooperation across political levels to ensure a future-ready education system, secure energy supplies, and a sustainable healthcare system. The process is now moving into the phase of developing specific legal and constitutional foundations.
