Reform Party to establish emergency response committee

The Reform Party is preparing to transition to an emergency response committee (ERC) system to address leadership vacancies and internal crises following the resignation of former leader Lee Jun-seok. Acting leader and floor leader Cheon Ha-ram announced on the 7th that the party intends to pursue radical changes and renewal through this new structure.

Because the current party charter lacks provisions for establishing an ERC, the party will first hold a vote among all members to amend the charter. This mobile vote is scheduled to take place this week via the ‘K-Voting’ system to ensure credibility.

The move comes after the party faced challenges, including poor results in local elections and internal instability. If the amendment passes, the ERC is expected to operate for a maximum of one year to stabilize the party and prepare for future leadership.
