Reform synagogue in Ramat Hasharon vandalized

A window at the Darchei Noam Reform synagogue in Ramat Hasharon was shattered by a heavy paving stone on Sunday. While police stated the motive is under investigation, the congregation has characterized the incident as a hate crime.

Ramat Hasharon Mayor Itzik Rochberger condemned the act as serious vandalism and called for a thorough police investigation, emphasizing the city’s commitment to pluralism and coexistence. Rabbi Eli Levin, leader of the congregation, disputed the possibility of the damage being accidental.

This incident follows a similar attack on the Kol HaNeshama Reform synagogue in Jerusalem’s Baka neighborhood approximately one week earlier. In that instance, vandals entered the prayer hall, damaged artwork, and removed Pride flags. No arrests have been announced in connection with either incident.
