Reform UK leader challenges Plaid Cymru's stability in Wales

Reform UK's Welsh leader, Dan Thomas, has claimed that the Plaid Cymru-led Welsh Government may be unable to complete its full four-year term. Thomas cited the government's recent failure to secure Senedd support for its mid-year spending plans as evidence of instability.

Speaking ahead of a Reform conference, Thomas stated that his party has established itself as a credible alternative in opposition since the May election. He noted that Reform has successfully won support for motions regarding bovine TB, legal protections for care leavers, and a lobbyist register for Wales.

Additionally, the Reform Senedd Group plans to introduce a motion calling for increased Welsh representation in the UK's independent inquiry into grooming gangs. Thomas asserted that Reform is prepared to “take the reins” and govern in the interests of Wales if the current government continues to struggle with financial measures in Cardiff Bay.
