Regelschule Dermbach students engage in community and environmental projects
Students at Regelschule Dermbach participated in a dedicated project day focused on community engagement, responsibility, and environmental protection. Under the theme “Ehrenamt hält Einzug in der Schule” (Volunteering enters the school), students from grades 5 to 10 engaged in various activities designed to demonstrate the importance of voluntary service.
In observance of World Cleanup Day, younger students from grades 5 to 7 collected litter throughout Dermbach to promote environmental cleanliness. Additionally, students maintained a local insect hotel located at the Schlossmauer, which had been previously constructed by the school to support local bee and butterfly habitats.
Older students in grade 8 worked with the Freiwilligenagentur Bad Salzungen to learn about the diverse opportunities for regional volunteer work and the role of civic engagement in a functioning community.
