Regenerative medicine aids earthquake recovery in Venezuela

Regenerative medicine technology is being utilized to aid recovery for individuals affected by recent earthquakes in the central region of Venezuela, specifically in Guarenas and Guatire. Led by Dr. Bedixo Valbuena, medical teams have deployed advanced scientific tools to treat victims, including those from La Guaira who were involved in structural collapses.

In Guarenas, high-complexity surgical interventions were successfully performed on patients with fractures. In Guatire, the UMIRA integral medicine unit provided free conservative treatments using advanced medical technology, such as laser systems and superinductive systems. These methods have allowed patients, including children with femur and humerus fractures, to avoid traditional invasive procedures like plaster casts or surgery, significantly reducing recovery times.
