JPMorgan Chase forecasts Q3 growth and Swiss expansion

JPMorgan Chase is projecting strong growth for the third quarter, with co-president Doug Petno forecasting that investment banking fees and markets revenue will increase by a mid-to-high teens percentage. This optimistic outlook follows a robust second quarter where investment banking fees rose 30% year-on-year.

In Switzerland, J.P. Morgan is actively pursuing market share expansion. Reinout Boettcher, CEO of Switzerland, noted that the bank is seeing growth across corporate banking, markets, private banking, and asset management. The bank is specifically targeting the Swiss mid-market, focusing on companies with annual revenues of approximately 500 million francs, particularly those with significant international operations. Boettcher indicated that the consolidation of the Swiss banking sector, following the takeover of Credit Suisse by UBS, has created opportunities for international institutions to diversify banking relationships.
