Regensburg Tax Office Implements Mandatory Appointment System

Effective 1 September 2026, taxpayers must book a personal consultation in advance at the Service Center of the Regensburg Tax Office (Finanzamt Regensburg). Appointments can be scheduled online through the office’s website or via the dedicated phone line, allowing visitors to choose a convenient time slot.

The mandatory booking follows a Bavarian-wide appointment system introduced in summer 2024, which has received positive feedback for reducing waiting times and improving service quality. Regular opening hours remain unchanged (Mon‑Wed 07:30‑12:30, Thu 07:30‑17:00, Fri 07:30‑12:00), and walk‑ins are still possible on Thursdays from 07:30 to 17:00. Taxpayers are also encouraged to use the electronic ELSTER platform for filing returns and communicating with the tax office.
