Reggae singer Edson Gomes discharged from hospital

Brazilian reggae singer Edson Gomes, 71, has been discharged from Hospital Emec in Feira de Santana after a six-day hospitalization. The artist was admitted on Monday due to high glycemic levels related to diabetes.

Medical staff reported that during his stay, Gomes also received treatment for arterial hypertension and acute chronic diabetic nephropathy. His medical team noted that his condition was exacerbated by an intense performance schedule, inadequate nutrition, and medication taken for throat inflammation.

Despite the health scare, Gomes's team confirmed his performance schedule remains unchanged. He is expected to return to the stage as early as Sunday with a scheduled show in Pernambuco.
