Lotito close to acquiring Reggina as Italian clubs negotiate ownership changes

The sale of Serie C club Reggina is reportedly nearing completion. Daily updates say the deal with ENIC‑backed businessman Danilo Lotito could close after recent meetings with fiscalists and the mayor of Reggio. No other shareholders are planned; Enrico Lotito, the president’s son, is expected to assume a top role, while former Lucchese director Andrea Gianni is a candidate for general manager. The FIGC’s rule on multi‑ownership allows existing dual holdings (e.g., Napoli and Bari) but bans new ones, meaning Lotito may have to divest the club if it climbs back to Serie C.

In Perugia, two investment funds have submitted offers to purchase the club, with the general manager Hernan Borras expecting at least two formal bids by next week. A third proposal was rejected. The club has already secured sponsorship from 55 companies worth €2 million, and a June 30 deadline is set for finalising any agreement.

Meanwhile, Pallacanestro Brescia faces speculation about a possible transfer of its sporting title to Trieste, driven by a new economic proposal from American entrepreneur Paul Matiasic. The club, which rebranded in 2020, is navigating uncertainty after the recent withdrawal of Graziella Bragaglio, while Mauro Ferrari remains a central figure in its project.
