Claudio Lotito Takes Over Reggina, Launches Club Revamp and Youth Integration
Claudio Lotito, president of Lazio, completed the acquisition of Serie D side Reggina for around €1.5 million through Reghium Srl and Snam Lazio Sud. The new owner announced an investment of €4‑5 million to rebuild the club, renovate the Sant'Agata and Granillo pitches, and form a new organisational structure.
Lotito plans to reinforce the senior squad for an immediate push to Serie C while also constructing a solid youth pipeline. Three Lazio Primavera players—defender Cristiano Trifelli (2007), midfielder Valerio Farcomeni (2006) and forward Franco Sulejmani (2006)—have been identified as first‑team candidates. Carlo Susini, a former collaborator of Lotito at Salernitana, is expected to become the new director of sport.
Local officials praised the deal. Senator Tilde Minasi called the purchase a “turning point” for Reggio Calabria, emphasizing its social and cultural impact. Mayor Francesco Cannizzaro highlighted the project’s vision for the city and pledged support for the stadium upgrades and club administration.
