Reggio Calabria airport theft investigation leads to two reports

Two women, a French citizen and a Cuban citizen, have been reported to judicial authorities following a theft investigation at the Tito Minniti Airport in Reggio Calabria.

The incident began when cleaning staff discovered a wallet in a trash bin located outside the airport terminal. Border police investigations linked the found item to a theft report filed by an Italian passenger, who stated her wallet had been stolen while traveling on a regional train between Scilla and Reggio Calabria.

By analyzing airport surveillance footage, investigators were able to reconstruct the events. The video showed the two women discarding the wallet into the bin shortly before boarding an international flight. The women have since been identified and referred to the judicial authorities.
