Reggio Calabria amusement ride sparks controversy after viral video

A viral video from Largo Botteghelle in Reggio Calabria has gained widespread attention on social media, showing an oscillating amusement ride appearing to come extremely close to the balconies of a residential building. While the footage may be a result of optical illusion and the ride was officially authorized, the incident has reignited local controversy.

Residents and the Ferrovieri-Pescatori neighborhood committee had expressed opposition to the installation of large attractions in the area prior to the September festivities. The primary concern involves the placement of such rides in a densely populated district surrounded by buildings housing families, children, and the elderly.
