Reggio Calabria and Assisi reshape municipal leadership

In Reggio Calabria, councilors gathered on July 31 to elect presidents and vice‑presidents for the city’s nine permanent commissions. Eight presidencies are slated for the centre‑right majority, while the ninth, the Commission for Control and Guarantees, will be chaired by an opposition member. Proposed leaders include Nicola Zera Falduto for the Budget and Tax Commission, Emiliano Imbalzano for the Institutional Affairs Commission, Paolo Bilardi for the Urban Planning Commission, and Vanessa Colica for the Environment Commission.

Meanwhile, Assisi’s mayor Valter Stoppini issued new decrees on July 30 that will take effect on August 1, redistributing the municipal cabinet’s delegations. The mayor will directly manage Public Works and Taxation, adding these portfolios to his existing responsibilities for local police, civil protection, and cultural events. Vice‑mayor Veronica Cavallucci retains a broad set of delegations covering mobility, culture, energy, urban planning, and digital innovation.
