Reggio Calabria approves consolidated budget with 90 million euro surplus
The Reggio Calabria City Council has approved its 2025 consolidated budget, reporting a positive economic result of approximately 90 million euros. Francesco Consiglio, a municipal official in the Finance and Economy sector, explained that the consolidated figures combine the municipality's accounts with those of its subsidiary companies, eliminating internal transactions to provide a comprehensive economic overview.
The municipality itself reported an operating profit of about 92 million euros. While the group's total result stands at around 90 million euros, officials noted that this figure does not represent liquid funds immediately available for new investments or expenditures. The positive outcome was highlighted by the absence of detected losses.
A point of discussion during the session involved Castore, a subsidiary that has not yet formally approved its own budget. For the purpose of the consolidated report, the municipality utilized the draft 2025 budget provided by the company, which indicates a profit. Officials stated they do not expect significant deviations from this draft.
