Reggio Calabria concert cancelled due to torrential rain

A sudden and violent torrential downpour interrupted the Feste Mariane celebrations in Reggio Calabria, forcing the cancellation of Mannarino’s concert at Piazza Indipendenza. The storm hit shortly after the artist took the stage, lasting only a few minutes before heavy rain and wind forced the crowd to seek shelter under balconies and gazebos.

Mayor Francesco Cannizzaro officially announced the cancellation of both the concert and the traditional fireworks display over the Strait. The intense rainfall caused flooding in several areas, including the village of Scirubetta, and led to significant traffic congestion as thousands of people attempted to leave the area simultaneously.
