Reggio Calabria fountains research to be presented by architect

Architect Antonella Postorino will present research regarding the history and evolution of fountains in Reggio Calabria during a talk at the Pietro de Nava Library on September 24. The event is organized by the Anassilaos Cultural Association in collaboration with the library.

The research explores the relationship between the city and its water resources, tracing the development of fountains from ancient times to the present day. The study examines how urban transformations, including historical earthquakes and subsequent reconstructions, have shaped the city's water infrastructure.

Postorino will discuss the architectural significance of these structures, analyzing them as both functional communal elements and monumental landmarks. The presentation will cover various expressive languages and the anthropological dimensions of fountains within both urban and extra-urban contexts.
