Reggio Calabria Launches New Road‑Repair Machine to Accelerate Pothole Fixes
The municipality of Reggio Calabria has placed a new “tappabuche” road‑repair machine in service with the local contractor Castore. The equipment can fill potholes quickly and safely, allowing work even when bitumen plants are idle, and is expected to reduce traffic disruption.
Training of Castore operators finished on 30‑31 July 2026, and the device is now available to the community. Civic groups Reset and La Svolta said the purchase reflects the political and administrative planning of the former administration led by Mayor Giuseppe Falcomatà, and view it as part of a broader effort to modernise city services.
