Reggio Calabria secures new location for Gallico polyclinic

The Municipality of Reggio Calabria has identified a new location for the Gallico polyclinic to ensure the continuity of healthcare services. The current facility is scheduled to close on December 31 due to regional healthcare austerity policies regarding rented properties.

The new site will be located in the former Gallico District building, a municipal property that has remained unused for approximately twenty years. Following discussions between Mayor Francesco Cannizzaro, Councilor Antonino Maiolino, and the Provincial Health Authority (ASP), the transfer aims to prevent service interruptions and minimize travel for local residents.

The new facility will host specialist outpatient services, the medical guard (Guardia Medica), and a family counseling center (consultorio familiare), serving as a vital health hub for the Gallico neighborhood and the northern area of the city.
