Reggio Calabria to host Aspromonte mycological exhibition

The city of Reggio Calabria will host its third Mycological Exhibition at the Palazzo San Giorgio gallery on October 25, 2026. Organized by the Associazione Micologica Culturale Aspromonte APS/ETS and the Associazione Micologica Bresadola, the event aims to promote knowledge of the fungi found within the Aspromonte massif.

The exhibition will feature a free educational program focused on the biodiversity of Calabrian forests, specifically highlighting the ecosystems of beech, oak, and chestnut woods. The event is scheduled to run in two sessions: from 09:30 to 13:00 and from 15:30 to 19:30.

In addition to showcasing local natural heritage, the initiative emphasizes safety and regulation. It highlights the mandatory requirement to submit harvested fungi to the mycological inspectorates of the ASP to ensure they are edible and not potentially lethal.
