Reggio Calabria to provide disability school assistance from day one

In Reggio Calabria, school assistance services for students with disabilities will be fully active and guaranteed starting from the first day of the school year on September 18, 2026. This includes autonomy and communication assistance for students in municipal schools, covering nursery, primary, and lower secondary levels.

Lucia Fio, the municipal Councilor for Social Policies, Welfare, and the Third Sector, stated that this achievement marks a significant change from previous years when families often faced months of waiting for necessary assistance. The administration, led by Mayor Francesco Cannizzaro, implemented new coordination and planning processes to ensure that no student is left behind and to provide certainty to families regarding inclusive education rights.
