Regina experiences record heat and high tornado counts

Regina has experienced double its average number of hot days this summer, according to climatologist Phillips. The heat and lack of precipitation have created dry conditions conducive to wildfires, similar to those currently affecting British Columbia. This trend of hot and dry weather is being observed across Canada and in various parts of the world, including multiple heat domes in Europe.

Saskatchewan has also seen record-breaking weather activity. The province has confirmed 34 tornadoes so far this summer, a record-high number with significant portions of the season remaining. A single weekend in July saw between eight and 15 confirmed tornadoes. Climatologists suggest that the warmer temperatures may persist through the fall and into next year.
