Regina Maria Park to undergo major modernization in Bucharest

Regina Maria Park in Bucharest's Sector 1 is undergoing a major modernization project. The Sector 1 City Hall has signed a contract for the design and execution of works to completely redevelop the approximately 15,374-square-meter green space.

The renovation plan includes the addition of new playgrounds, a 3x3 basketball court, a multi-functional sports field, a street workout area, and spaces for ping-pong and chess. The project also features relaxation zones with hammocks and loungers, as well as two dedicated areas for dogs.

A key feature of the development is a sensory garden designed for people with disabilities, which will include tactile paths and sound guidance systems. The project aims to enhance the park's natural and cultural heritage without cutting existing trees or reducing the total green surface area. Infrastructure upgrades will include new public lighting, irrigation systems, and natural stone pathways.
