Regina police seize prohibited rifle and loaded shotgun
A 48-year-old man faces multiple firearms and driving charges following a weekend arrest in Regina. The incident began on August 8 when police responded to reports of an intoxicated man damaging property in the Dieppe Place neighbourhood. During the arrest for impaired driving, a knife fell from the suspect's lap, and he reportedly made death threats against another individual.
A subsequent search of a residence in the Rosemont/Mount Royal neighbourhood on Sunday led to the discovery of several weapons. Officers seized a loaded shotgun, one prohibited assault rifle, five unloaded rifles, ammunition, and two BB guns.
The suspect has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, unauthorized possession of a weapon, possession of a prohibited firearm, careless storage of a firearm, uttering threats, and breaking and entering. He appeared in court on August 10.
