Regina's Kings Park Speedway Rivalry Becomes Family Tradition

Doug Mark and Dave Kindred have been competing against each other at Kings Park Speedway in Regina, Saskatchewan since the 1980s, initially in the Pro Four division and helping grow the track into one of the province's premier paved oval venues.

Their families have now merged when Mark's granddaughter and Kindred's son Lucas welcomed a daughter, linking the two long‑time racing dynasties. Both men say the rivalry continues on the track, noting, “It’s better to beat him on the track than it is in the pit.” The community remains a tight‑knit, multigenerational family where the next generations carry the tradition forward.
