RegioJet proposes new international rail routes from Poland

Czech rail operator RegioJet has submitted documents to the Office of Rail Transport regarding the launch of four new international connections starting in December 2027. The proposed routes are intended to run daily from December 12, 2027, until December 11, 2032.

A primary highlight of the proposal is a route connecting Warsaw to Sankt Anton am Arlberg, traveling through the Austrian Alps. The journey from Warsaw would take approximately 16 hours and 25 minutes, passing through major stops including Katowice, Ostrava, Vienna, and Salzburg, before reaching various ski resorts such as Zell am See and Kitzbühel.

Other planned routes include Katowice to Rijeka, Warsaw to Prague, and Przemyśl to Vienna. The operator intends to use 12-car locomotive-hauled sets, utilizing Alstom Traxx or Siemens Vectron locomotives.
