Region of Crete holds consultation for new CAP 2028-2034
The Region of Crete is conducting a public consultation process to formulate proposals for the new Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) for the 2028-2034 period. The consultation process is scheduled to continue until August 31, 2026.
Working groups have held consecutive sessions focusing on several key sectors, including the protection of beekeeping and the promotion of Cretan honey, livestock issues involving meat and dairy products, the development of vegetable cultivation, strategic planning for Cretan vineyards (specifically wine and Sultana raisins), and the quality strategy for Cretan olive oil.
Participants include representatives from productive and institutional bodies, scientific institutions, cooperative organizations, and professional associations. The Region is calling on farmers, livestock breeders, cooperatives, and interested citizens to actively participate by submitting proposals and observations via a dedicated digital platform.
