Region of Crete wins BITE Award for digital appointment platform

The Region of Crete has received the silver award in the ‘Best Citizen Experience / Digital Public Service’ category at the BITE Awards 2026. The recognition was awarded to the ‘Electronic Appointments – BookTool’ digital platform.

As part of the region's broader digital transformation strategy, the platform allows citizens to schedule appointments for matters that cannot be completed entirely online, such as document collection, clarifications, and inquiries. Services can be conducted in person or via videoconference, reducing travel time and administrative delays. In its initial months of operation, the platform recorded over 7,300 electronic appointments.
