Region Stockholm defends medical record system procurement
Region Stockholm and Gotland have defended their procurement of a new primary electronic health record system following legal challenges. The Administrative Court ruled on July 1, 2025, that the procurement process was conducted in accordance with legislation and that the evaluation model used was objective. The court rejected claims that the bid from Systematics was evaluated incorrectly or that Cambio received unfair advantages.
The winning bid was selected based on a combination of price and quality, with quality carrying significant weight in the decision. Four suppliers originally qualified to submit bids, though one declined and another was excluded during the negotiation phase.
In Denmark, medical professionals at Hjørring Hospital reported high satisfaction with the Systematics system, which they have used since 2022. Doctors described the system as intuitive and noted that the transition was smooth. One physician ranked the Systematics system as the best they have used, placing the Cosmic system in second place.
