Regional agricultural fairs celebrate traditions in Penafiel and Alpiarça

Regional agricultural and cultural fairs are underway in Portugal, highlighting local traditions and economic diversity. In Penafiel, the AGRIVAL fair celebrated the 186th anniversary of the Onion Fair. The event included the Onion Contest to recognize local producers and featured various cultural performances, including folklore groups and a concert by Buba Espinho.

Simultaneously, the 44th edition of ALPIAGRA opened in Alpiarça with nearly 150 exhibitors. The fair commenced with a traditional grape harvest parade and featured a new sweet product made from local ingredients. The event, which runs until August 30, combines agriculture, commerce, and gastronomy with musical performances, including a set by Bárbara Tinoco.
