Regional architectural and cultural initiatives announced in Moldova and Latvia

Architects in the Moldova region are invited to submit projects for the RAM 2026 – Repere event. The initiative aims to increase the visibility of architects' contributions to urban quality and investment. Submissions for projects completed in the last two years are open until October 9, 2026, with an exhibition planned for late October at the Palas Gardens in Iași. Eligible regions include Iași, Vaslui, Bacău, Neamț, Suceava, and Botoșani, as well as the Republic of Moldova.

Separately, a delegation from the Maramureș County Council participated in a study visit to Riga, Latvia, as part of the OpenRegioCulture project. Funded by the Interreg Europe Program, the workshop focused on improving accessibility and inclusion within the cultural sector. The visit included representatives from the Maramureș County Ethnography and Popular Art Museum and the Autism Baia Mare Association, aiming to exchange best practices regarding public policy and financial instruments for making cultural institutions more accessible to persons with disabilities.
