Regional art and science awards announced in Catalonia

Several regional awards in Catalonia have recognized achievements in digital art and student research. In Igualada, the XXIX Jaume Graells Digital Art Prize was awarded to Madrid-based artist Paula García Fernández for her work ‘Transfiguración Radiolaria’. The piece utilizes marine biology, Islamic geometry, and artificial intelligence to explore the morphology of microorganisms and their potential application in urban architecture.

In Olot, the 15th edition of the Jordi Pujiula Awards honored six winning projects from 23 educational centers across Catalonia. The recognized works spanned various disciplines, including satellite orbit prediction, maternal milk analysis, geological itineraries in Alt Empordà, and the automation of collaborative robots integrated with 3D printing. Other winners focused on technical design, biomechanical analysis, and the use of artificial intelligence for the early detection of neurodegenerative diseases.
