Regional athletic events: Mountain running in Nikšić and HyroKS in Samobor

Various athletic competitions are scheduled to take place in the region. In Nikšić, the 13th Montenegro Mountain Running Championship, known as ‘Trebjesa Mountain Run 2026’, will be held on Trebjesa hill. The event features a circular two-kilometer course with a 116-meter elevation gain and includes categories ranging from youth pioneers to seniors and veterans, as well as participants from the military and police. The program includes the M40 veteran race, the ‘Milan Radović’ Memorial, honoring the late mountaineer.

In Samobor, Croatia, the HyroKS hybrid fitness race is set for September 5 at Vugrinščak. Organized by siblings Nika Slaček, a world vice-champion in judo, and Kristijan Slaček, an experienced obstacle course and Hyrox athlete, the event expects approximately 400 competitors. The race is divided into OPEN and PRO categories to accommodate both recreational enthusiasts and professional athletes.
