Regional authorities fund community sports and social club improvements
Various regional authorities are implementing projects to improve community sports and social clubs.
In Uruguay, the Ministry of Transport and Public Works (MTOP) will sign an agreement with the Club de Bochas Piriápolis. The club will receive a non-reimbursable grant of 2,000,000 pesos (approximately $50,000) for facility improvements. The club will provide a counterpart contribution and oversee the construction.
In Argentina, the Minister of Public Works, Infrastructure, and Transport, Marcelo Nazur, visited Club Barrio Modelo to assess its needs. He committed to supporting the recovery of the club's facilities to strengthen its role as a community meeting point for activities such as boxing and karate.
In Chile, the Minister of Housing and Urbanism, Iván Poduje, visited Cartagena to inspect three urban recovery projects. These initiatives include transforming unused spaces into multi-use courts for the Club Deportivo Puerto Nuevo and improving the infrastructure of the Club Cartagena Atlético.
