Regional authorities in Castile and León face calls for road repairs

The Procurador del Común has urged the Junta de Castilla y León to prioritize restoration works on the LE-711 highway, which connects Ponferrada and Páramo del Sil. The request follows complaints regarding poor maintenance, including faded road markings and overgrown vegetation in ditches that increase accident risks. While regional mobility services described the road surface as being in an “acceptable state,” they acknowledged specific issues such as cracks, ruts, and localized sinkholes.

In a separate matter, the Mobility Commission of the Cortes rejected a proposal by Unión del Pueblo Leonés (UPL) for the comprehensive repair of the SA-305/ZA-305 road between Ledesma and the Zamora provincial border. UPL representatives described the road's condition as “lamentable,” citing numerous potholes and surface damage that compromise driver safety on this important connection between Salamanca and Zamora.
