Regional autumn festivals scheduled in Skalica and Banská Bystrica

Several regional autumn festivals are scheduled to take place in Slovakia on October 17, 2026.

In Skalica, the 17th annual Open Hut Day on the Záhorie Wine Route will feature over 60 traditional wine cellars, some dating back more than 100 years. The event includes four tasting routes covering more than 10 kilometers, offering local wines such as the Skalica Ruby, along with regional products and refreshments.

In Banská Bystrica, the Zatváranie Banoša event will mark the end of the summer tourist and agricultural season. Held at the Milan Hodža vocational school in the Rudlová – Sásová district, the festival includes a street parade, a farmers' market, and demonstrations of falconry, beekeeping, and traditional crafts. The program also features competitions for the best apple and apple spirit in Slovakia, as well as folk music performances.
