Regional awards honor Polish athletes and cultural leaders

Regional authorities in Poland have issued several awards recognizing excellence in sports and culture. In the Podlaskie Voivodeship, the local government distributed 185,000 PLN in prizes to honor outstanding athletes, coaches, and activists. Notable recipients include high jumper Maria Żodzik, who received 40,000 PLN following her silver medal at the World Championships, and Paweł Arciszewski, who was awarded 40,000 PLN for his achievements in MTB XCC at the Deaflympics. Other winners included young athlete Ivan Rakitski and short track coach Urszula Kamińska.

In the Silesian Voivodeship, Jolanta Kołodziej, Director of the Culture, Sport and Recreation Center in Ujsoły, was honored with the Golden Badge of Merit for her four decades of service. The award recognizes her efforts in promoting local identity, organizing cultural events, and supporting regional heritage in the Beskid Żywiecki area.
