Regional blood donation drives report successful community turnout
Various regional blood donation drives have successfully increased local blood supplies through community participation.
In Andrijevica, the local health center held its fifth consecutive voluntary blood donation event. Organized in cooperation with the Blood Transfusion Institute of Montenegro and the Red Cross, the initiative saw 40 citizens participate. Officials noted that such actions are vital for maintaining blood reserves, particularly in the northern region where demand is continuous.
In Sukošan, the Voluntary Blood Donor Active (DDK) reported significant results from three donation drives held over the last nine months. In collaboration with the Zadar Red Cross and the Zadar General Hospital transfusion department, the community collected 257 doses, totaling approximately 116 liters of blood. The drives saw consistent turnout, with 275 total donors participating across the three events to support medical procedures and emergency needs.
