Regional Bread Festivals held across various Polish communities
Various regional celebrations of bread and culinary traditions are taking place across different parts of Poland.
In Ostrołęka, the E. Leclerc supermarket is hosting a Bread Festival from August 31 to September 3. The event features local suppliers such as Piekarnia Piątnica, Piekarnia Grahamka, and Piekarnia Serafin to promote regional craftsmanship and fresh products.
In Łęg Starościński-Walery, a family festival titled ‘Święto Chleba’ was held on August 30. Organized by local officials and the village council, the event included a home-baked bread competition, traditional food tastings, and folk music performances by groups such as ZL ‘Ożarowiacy’ and ZTL ‘Lelisioki’.
In Pieńsk, the long-standing ‘Święto Chleba’ tradition, which dates back to 1986, was celebrated with tastings of breads made from generational recipes. The event, organized by Mayor Janusz Pawul and the local Cultural Center with support from PGE Górnictwo i Energetyka Konwencjonalna S.A., featured a musical performance by Marty Bejma.
