Regional cinema updates: New fantasy trailer and classic film retrospectives
The family adventure comedy ‘Mama a Tato sú Božskí’ has released its trailer. Directed by Adam Hobzik and Jan Chramost, the film follows an ordinary family discovering extraordinary abilities linked to an ancient amulet. Starring Vica Kerekes and Petr Lněnička, the production emphasizes practical effects and stunts over digital ones, including scenes filmed on underwater platforms in the Vltava river. The film is scheduled for release in Slovak cinemas on November 19, 2026.
In Czech cinema history, the 1983 comedy ‘Bota jménem Melichar’, directed by Zdeněk Troška, remains a beloved children's classic. Originally filmed in a Prague school, the movie marked Troška's feature debut. Recent retrospectives highlight the lives of its cast members, such as Regina Řandová, who played the lead role of Jolana Ludvíková and has since continued a career in acting and dubbing.
