Regional cinemas announce new film releases and festival showcases

Cinema programming is expanding in Slovakia and the Czech Republic with new film releases and festival showcases. In Slovakia, Kino Star is introducing several new titles starting August 27, including the drama ‘Dog Stars’ starring Jacob Elordi, the action film ‘Rebellion’, the horror ‘Eight Legs and a Million Followers’, and the animation ‘Jungle Secrets’. Additionally, the cinema will host a screening of the first ‘Harry Potter’ film to mark its 25th anniversary.

In the Czech Republic, the ‘Tady Vary’ film showcase, curated by Karel Och, is preparing for its new season. The program features acclaimed international festival films, including ‘Behemoth!’ with Pedro Pascal and the Sundance selection ‘Josephine’ with Channing Tatum. The season begins on September 23 with ‘Lover, Not a Warrior’ and will include the Cannes Palme d’Or winner ‘Fjord’ in October, as well as Martin McDonagh’s black comedy ‘Wild Horse’.
