Regional climate initiatives launched in Germany

Various regional initiatives in Germany are focusing on climate change awareness and adaptation. In the Mayen-Koblenz district, the first Energy and Climate Forum (MYK) is scheduled for May 30, 2026. The event aims to support the district's 2022 goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2040. The forum will feature exhibitors specializing in climate protection, renewable energy, and sustainable mobility, alongside workshops on climate-friendly construction. A keynote speech by science communicator Jan Hegenberg is also planned.

In the Munich district, the Landratsamt München is participating in the nationwide Climate Adaptation Week from September 14 to 20. The program includes a photo competition for children regarding heat management, an online information session for homeowners on preparing properties for extreme weather, and guided tours at the German Museum to highlight various aspects of climate adaptation.
