Regional community events celebrate elderly through music and fashion

Various regional community events in Macau and Taiwan have recently focused on celebrating and supporting the elderly through cultural and social engagement.

In Macau, the Macau New Voice Dance and Entertainment Association organized the ‘Singing Shadows, Melodic Sounds’ nostalgic song event at the Wing Lok Theatre. The event hosted over 800 seniors, featuring performances of classic songs by various singers to promote social harmony and awareness for vulnerable groups.

In Yunlin, Taiwan, the county government held the ‘Extraordinary and Peak’ nostalgic professional fashion show at the Mailiao Social Education Park. Approximately 40 seniors participated, wearing former professional uniforms—such as those of doctors, tailors, and engineers—to showcase their life experiences. The event featured intergenerational collaboration, with students from Yifeng High School assisting with hair and makeup to encourage active aging and social participation.
