The SHE RISES Regional Conference was held in Pristina, bringing together regional leaders to discuss economic empowerment for women through entrepreneurship and regional cooperation.

During the event, Albanian Minister of Economy and Innovation Delina Ibrahimaj highlighted that 42% of startup funding in Albania was awarded to women-led enterprises last year, up from approximately 28-30% in previous years. She noted that while Albania leads the region in female labor market participation at 62%, female business administrators remain at roughly 31%.

North Macedonia's Minister of Economy and Labor, Besar Durmishi, announced government measures for 2026, including 11.34 million denars for MSME support and grants for self-employment ranging from 7,000 to 20,000 euros. He expressed intent to initiate structured regional cooperation by 2027 to connect women-led businesses with foreign investors.

Kosovo President Justina Shiroka-Pula emphasized that economic empowerment is essential for both gender equality and general economic development. She noted that women in Kosovo face challenges such as limited access to finance and an average of 6.2 hours of unpaid daily labor, which restricts business growth.
