Regional conferences address child mental health and parenting
Professional conferences focused on child wellbeing and mental health were held in Rijeka, Croatia, and Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In Rijeka, the “Investing in Wellbeing and Mental Health in the Education System” conference convened experts from healthcare, education, social welfare, and local government. Officials discussed the importance of intersectoral cooperation and the potential establishment of a youth center to provide early intervention and preventive support for children and parents. Programs such as PROMEHS and RESCUR were highlighted as existing practical tools for promoting mental health and resilience in schools and preschools.
In Sarajevo, the third edition of the “Sretno rasti” (Grow Happily) conference addressed modern parenting challenges. Organized by Media Magnet, the event provided a platform for parents to discuss setting boundaries, managing child emotions, and the importance of active fatherhood. Experts emphasized that parenting is a continuous learning process focused on building emotional resilience and self-confidence in children rather than seeking perfect methods.
