Regional culinary events promote local products in Gandia and Vinalopó

Regional culinary initiatives are highlighting local products in Spain through specialized gastronomic events. In the Safor region, the fifth edition of 'La Quincena de la Cigala' took place from September 1 to 15, featuring 21 restaurants in Gandia that incorporated local langoustine into their menus.

Organized by DestíSafor with support from the Gandia City Council, the campaign aims to promote artisanal fishing and boost the local economy by connecting fishermen directly to the restaurant sector. The timing of the event aligns with sustainable fishing periods and seeks to extend the tourist season in September.

Simultaneously, the 'Menjars de la Terra' program is showcasing bagged table grapes from the Vinalopó region. From September 14 to 18, five restaurants in the Middle and Upper Vinalopó areas will feature the fruit in various dishes, ranging from appetizers to desserts, to emphasize the agricultural tradition and versatility of the local crop.
