Regional culinary festivals celebrate traditional food heritage

Regional culinary traditions are being celebrated through various festivals in Hungary and Serbia. In Békéscsaba, Hungary, the 29th Csabai Sausage Festival is scheduled for October 22–25. The event focuses on preserving generational knowledge of sausage making, featuring authentic pig slaughtering demonstrations, traditional recipes, and music.

In Velebit, Serbia, the 13th annual national ajvar cooking caravan took place. Nine teams, including participants from Magyarkanizsa, Subotica, and Sombor, competed to prepare traditional pepper cream. The local team, Gazda Vlade i momci što rade elneviű, won the competition in Velebit and will advance to the national finals in Belgrade.
