Regional culinary traditions highlighted in Montenegro and Bosnia

In Montenegro, Zdravko Marković operates a traditional restaurant at Zagarački katun on the Lukavica mountain, located approximately 1,670 meters above sea level. The establishment focuses on serving local, traditional dishes to visitors from Montenegro and the surrounding region. Despite the natural beauty of the Lukavica mountain, including its springs and lakes, the area faces challenges such as severe drought, declining livestock numbers, and a lack of youth involvement in traditional mountain life. Marković has also noted infrastructure issues, including poor road conditions, a lack of telephone signal, and illegal waste dumping.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, a new restaurant named ‘Tradicija’ is set to open in Tuzla at the TC Dramar shopping center. Occupying the former site of the well-known DM restaurant, the new venue will offer traditional dishes and appetizers. The establishment will feature 150 indoor seats and an 80-seat outdoor terrace, catering to both daily dining and private events such as weddings and corporate gatherings.
